Power Energy HealthWhat are enzymes?

To begin with, enzymes are catalysts that can maximize people’s energy levels while optimizing cell activity.  Additionally, enzymes are compulsory protein molecules that keep us energized throughout our existence. Over the years, specialists have uncovered over 2000 enzymes, every single one with its own chemical reaction. Enzymes produce chemical changes within certain organic substances through a catalytic action known as digestion.

Enzymes are critical for the metabolic process but they’re not alive. Similar to other proteins, they’re made of amino acids, they have different functions and a unique ability to ease biochemical reactions without going through changes themselves. That’s why enzymes are so unique.  With the help of biochemical reactions, enzymes occur fast and effectively within the human body.

  • Types of enzymes

Enzymes have the power to regulate and catalyze almost all biochemical reactions that could happen within the system. Thus, they convert food into energy, and unlock the energy resulted into the body. Although they can’t be seen, they’re quite powerful, strong and can even improve immune system and blood functioning. People’s bodies usually generate both metabolic and digestive enzymes. Several enzymes can be even stored in the system for future need.

There are 3 main types of enzymes:

  • Metabolic- which are made within the human body
  • Digestive- which are produced by the body
  • Food enzymes- which are found in certain types of foods

Metabolic enzymes are basically speeding up the main chemical reaction that happens within the cells for energy and detoxification production. These types of enzymes enable people to hear, move, see, feel and think. Every tissue, organ and all other trillion cells within the human body depend on the metabolic reaction of enzymes with their corresponding energy factor. Metabolic enzymes are manufactured by the liver, gallbladder, pancreas and additional organs.

Digestive enzymes have the ability to break foods and they’re secreted down the digestive tract. Their main attribute it to convert food into nutrients; afterwards, nutrients are taken in by the bloodstream. Some of the most common digestive enzymes are trypsin, protease, pepsin, amylase and ptyalin. There are around 45 important nutrients that are needed by the body. Without these 45 nutrients, the body cannot function properly and people must get them from outside sources. Nutrients, enzymes included, cooperate with each other and they act like catalysts; thus, they promote assimilation and absorption.

Food enzymes are ingested by the body through the raw food that we eat daily. When ingested, foods that contain enzymes provide us with digestive enzymes, elementary for our digestion. However, in order to take beneficial enzymes from food, we must avoid cooking because it destroys the process. These days, it’s really difficult to find raw groceries especially since even vegetables get processed in some way or another. Thus, people’s best solution to provide the body with enzymes is to take supplements that are rich in enzymes.  Additionally, it’s mandatory to make the distinction between every enzyme type because not all of them are the same.
